Tulare and Kings Counties is a hub for work-based learning (WBL) opportunities for our students.
A few highlights from 2017:
Nearly 12,000 students engaged in some form of WBL. Students interacted with industry partners more than 600 times, which breaks down to an average of 23 professional interactions a week during the school year.
More than 500 businesses in Tulare and Kings County provided over 16,000 hours to volunteer as guest speakers, job shadow and internship hosts, and offer worksite tours.
The value of the time, expertise, advice, and donated materials needed to provide these experiences to the 45+ career pathway programs in our region equates to over $590,000 in in-kind donations.
