By 2018, our goal is to create 2,500 high quality internships for our students.
We envision our students completing a sequence of work-based learning experiences, preparing them to make informed college and career decisions and allowing them to acquire necessary college and career ready skills. Building upon the Linked Learning and NAF strategy of creating strong academy advisory boards, ITK partners with employers so they have the tools and resources to be successful in providing these experiences.
With new community college and workforce funding encouraging work-based learning, ITK is developing strategies to coordinate, encourage and support the work of schools, academies, and programs across the region.
What is work-based learning?

Provides students with career awareness, career exploration, and career preparation
Includes a continuum of experiences
Aligns with intentional student learning outcomes
Prepares students for success in post-secondary education and careers
Benefits the student, the business partner, and the school
